Agro-Connect App
An Agricuture mobile app for farm produce sellers to platform their products, and buyers to easily buy and compare prices.
Year :
2026
Client :
Mydas Consulting
Project Duration :
3 weeks

Overview:
Agriculture remains one of the largest contributors to many African economies, yet millions of farmers still struggle to access profitable markets. At the same time, produce buyers from households to restaurants and wholesalers often find it difficult to source fresh, quality produce from trusted suppliers. Existing supply chains are fragmented, heavily dependent on middlemen, and lack transparency.
Agro-Connect was designed as a mobile marketplace that bridges this gap by enabling farmers to sell directly to verified buyers while giving buyers an easier way to discover, purchase, and track fresh agricultural produce.

Problem Statement:
Small and medium-scale farmers have limited access to reliable markets, while produce buyers lack a centralized platform for discovering trusted farmers and purchasing fresh produce.
The absence of a transparent digital marketplace leads to:
Limited market access for farmers
Price exploitation by intermediaries
Post-harvest losses
Difficult communication between buyers and sellers
Unreliable order tracking
Low trust between trading parties
Time-consuming purchasing processes

Solution:
Design a marketplace that enables farmers and buyers to connect directly through a simple, trustworthy, and efficient digital experience.
The solution should help farmers increase visibility and sales while making it easier for buyers to discover, purchase, and receive fresh produce with confidence.
Design Objectives
Make selling produce simple for farmers.
Help buyers quickly find the products they need.
Build trust through verified profiles, transparent pricing, and ratings.
Reduce communication barriers with integrated messaging.
Create a seamless order and delivery tracking experience.
Undersanding The Users
Since Agro-Connect serves two different audiences, I focused on understanding both user groups separately.
Primary User 1: Farmers
Farmers want to sell their produce quickly at fair prices while spending as little time as possible managing technology.
Goals:
Reach more buyers
Sell produce before spoilage
Receive payments on time
Track incoming orders
Primary User 2: Buyers
Buyers need a convenient way to compare products, evaluate sellers, and place orders without uncertainty.
Goals:
Buy fresh produce
Compare prices
Purchase from trusted farmers
Receive deliveries on time
Designing Agro-Connect reinforced the importance of understanding the unique needs of different user groups within the same ecosystem. While both farmers and buyers interact with the same marketplace, their goals, motivations, and daily workflows are very different.
By focusing on simplicity, transparency, and trust, I created an experience that supports both sides of the marketplace without overwhelming either. If this concept were developed further, I would conduct usability testing with real farmers and buyers to validate assumptions, refine the workflows, and explore features such as cooperative management, offline functionality, and localized language support.
